This is one of the very last pictures I have of my beloved Tootsie and me.
She was my Angel Baby and my inspiration for becoming T-Amore Shih Tzu.
I have loved and owned the Shih Tzu breed for 35 years, and delivered my very first litter in July of 2003. I was instantly addicted!
When I decided to become a breeder, I promised myself I would bring only the highest quality Shih Tzu puppies into this world. I never want anyone to needlessly suffer the loss of their beloved companion (see In Memory of Tootsie).
Although I love dogs in general, I believe the Shih Tzu breed is one of the most human-like of all. They are definitely a people dog, and love nothing more than being your constant companion. They're intelligent, independent and sensitive little beings. Nothing compares to the Shih Tzu as a close companion. The quote "Whoever said you can't buy love has never owned a puppy" was written for this dog!!
Health, conformation and temperament are at the forefront of my breeding goals. My breeding program focuses on the AKC standard for the Shih Tzu breed (9-16 pounds adult weight).
All of my dogs live full-time in my home and are treated as family members. Babies are loved and cuddled from the time they're born and know no fear of humans. The kids grow up in a loving environment and learn basic house manners and potty training along the way. These are trusting, loving (and loved) babies.
I keep my puppies here until they are 12 weeks old (as recommended by the American Shih Tzu Club). This gives me time to give them two vaccines (their primary and one booster), and it gives them four crucial weeks of additional emotional development before they face their new life. I MICROCHIP all of my puppies, for their lifetime protection. My litters are all registered with the American Kennel Club and you will receive individual registration application papers upon proof of spay/neuter of your puppy at the appropriate age (generally between 6 and 7 months old).
